GPRF is now closed
Due
to the changing landscape of primary care research in
the UK,
the MRC discontinued funding for the General Practice Research
Framework (GPRF)
at the end of March 2012 and the GPRF is now closed.
When
the National Institute for Health Research was
established in 2006, it took on the remit for primary care research.
The
supporting infrastructure for UK
primary care research is now provided by the primary care networks in
the four UK
nations. The
MRC will continue to support high-quality research taking place in
primary care
settings across the UK,
complementing NIHR and devolved administration funding.
